The Diana Mather School of Etiquette
‘Good Manners are ageless, classless and priceless and everybody should have them’
The Diana Mather School of Etiquette is a Finishing School for Ladies & Gentlemen of all ages and specialises in:
- Etiquette & Modern Manners
Founded in the mid-eighties by Diana Mather, we were one of the first organisations in the field of image building to achieve formal approval by the House of Commons in the UK for advising members on a whole range of topics relating to their public performance. Our client list ranges from MPs, lawyers, teachers, councillors, as well as charity fund-raisers, housewives, women returners, university graduates and school leavers.
The Diana Mather School of Etiquette is a Finishing School with a difference – it holds courses in a variety of venues throughout Great Britain - all with a uniquely sophisticated ambience
Diana Mather is ideally suited to run etiquette and international protocol programmes as she is descended from Edward Weissmuller von Wimmis, an envoy to the Court of St James in London in the 20th century. He escorted The Duke of Cumberland on the Garter Mission to Japan and arranged the itinerary for The Crown Prince of Siam on his visits to the Courts of Europe, Russia and Asia as well as organizing ‘The Grand Tour’ for many aristocratic families. As a result international protocol, etiquette, and good manners have been very much an integral part of life as she grew up. Early in 2005 she spotted a niche in the market and decided to re-invent the traditional British finishing school by founding The Finishing Academy. Diana devised all the courses, chose the tutors and was the mainstay of the training programmes. Her media background has been an enormous advantage and she contacted BBC Northwest and BBC ‘Woman’s Hour’ to cover the launch. This led to enquiries from people from all over the globe and when she introduced the first finishing school for Gentlemen in Scotland the Academy gained attention from the world’s media. She left The Finishing Academy in 2006 to start The Diana Mather School of Etiquette and Public Image Inc Ltd as she wanted to broaden her range from purely etiquette tuition to include management and media training, as well as television presenting, thus making the best use of her experience and talents.
‘Having Good Manners means treating others with kindness, consideration and respect’
Thus The Diana Mather School of Etiquette is part of Public Image Inc Ltd, which concentrates on training for the corporate arena.
